Opened: 1973 – 2006

Established in 1973, CBGB continued to play an important role in New York City’s musical landscape until it was closed in 2006. Located on the Lower East Side, CBGB was originally intended to be a country, blues club and bluegrass. The venue, however, would eventually go on to be considered a mecca for the punk and new wave movements. Although it closed its doors in 2006, its legacy continues to live on as one of the most important music venues in the history of New York City.

The Apollo Theater

The likes of Dean Martin, Marvin Gaye and so many other elite performers performed at Copa’s OG location, while Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way, One Night in Miami and several other well-known films were filmed at the Brazilian-flavored club that will forever be remembered for its glitz and glam.

<code><p class = "instagram-media">\u0026amp;utm_campaign=loading</p></code>

Opened: 1982

S.O.B.s, aka, Sound of Brazil, was the brainchild of Larry Gold, who in the early 1980s opened the live music venue with the intent of “exposing the musical wealth and heritage of the Afro-Latino Diaspora to as many people as possible.” … Although Gold’s vision for S.O.B.s was clear, the legendary venue would later become a staple in hip-hop. Now a go-to stage for emerging superstars, S.O.B.s’ intimate setting has been tapped by Chief Keef, Drake, DMX, Kanye West and others.

KidSuper, Awake NY and More Link with the US Soccer Team for the World Cup

Tomorrow marks the start of November, which means that we’re officially in the month of the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. With the festivities set to kick off on November 20th, you can expect a lot of merch action over these next several weeks, including this exciting one on behalf of the U.S. Soccer, who’s teaming up with designers Hidden NY, Awake NY, KidSuper, Jason Scott and VOYCENOW to create exclusive lifestyle capsule collections for the U.S. Men’s National Team.

RELATED: Which Teams Have the Most MLS Cup Titles?

These five brands, who are all known for celebrating culture and diversity through fashion and lifestyle, are offering limited edition merchandise that includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, socks and hats. Make no mistake, this is a first-of-its-kind collection with a unique rollout.

HIDDEN.NY – Oct. 31st
Hidden NY x U.S. Soccer

The first collection to debut is HIDDEN.NY’s spin on the merch, which released earlier today. The next four collections will debut over the following four days. The inaugural collection features tees, hoodies, crewnecks and a hat.

Awake NY – Nov. 1st
Awake NY
Awake NY x U.S. Soccer

The second collection, dropping tomorrow, is from another NYC-based brand, Awake NY. Here’s what Angelo Baque, founder and Creative Director of the label, had to say:

“Soccer was intertwined with my upbringing. Growing up, I would spend weekends barbecuing and watching my uncles play at Flushing Meadow Park. The sport is a huge part of Ecuadorian culture, and as an Ecuadorian-American, this project is particularly meaningful for me since both teams are in the World Cup this year. I used “Solo Pa’lante” as a signifier of my upbringing and the inclusive spirit of the USMNT.”

Jason Scott – Nov. 2nd
Jason Scott

As a brand built around comfort, Jason Scott was able to put a material and texture-heavy spin on his collection, featuring an off white colorway punctuated with gold patches. Here’s what the designer had to say on the project:

“Ever since I was 5 years old, soccer has been a part of my life. It’s transformed from a sport I used to play as a kid to a major source of inspiration for our brand. Being able to collaborate and craft a special collection with the USMNT is more than I can even put into words. It was important to me when I was working on the collection and combining these two passions that the collection consisted of elevated styles with unique designs — two things we focus on to make our brand stand above the rest.”

KidSuper – Nov. 3rd
KidSuper x U.S. Soccer

In classic KidSuper fashion, his collection is colorful and eccentric, bringing his kaleidoscopic eye for color to the pitch. His take on the project is just as cheeky as the collection itself:

“This is the closest I’ll come to playing for the U.S. Men’s National Team. This is a big deal for everyone involved. PUT ME IN COACH!”

VoyceNow – Nov. 4th
VoyceNow x U.S. Soccer

The final leg of the series of capsule collections is a little different from the previous four. Rather than a collaboration with a traditional designer, the final installment is a partnership with VoyceNow, a nonprofit/clothing brand that donates all of its profits to the Minority Education Fund.

Are you not excited? As we mentioned earlier, the drops start today with Hidden NY’s capsule collection, and release on a daily basis throughout the rest of the week. Make sure to bookmark this article so you can catch each collection!

‘The White Lotus’ Season 2: The Funniest Lines So Far

Warning: Spoilers for The White Lotus Season 2, Episode 1

What happens when you combine a woman who loves a good macaroon, two frenemy couples, and an 80-year-old man who dabbles in sexual harassment? Well, you get The White Lotus Season 2.

Even though the show is still currently setting the scene for its second season, there has been absolutely zero hesitation regarding the writing of the show. Okay, maybe the writers need to spread the love a little more when it comes to the characters aside from Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid, but hey, I’m not complaining: I’ll listen to her babble on about fancy desserts and blind nuns any day.

Save for Coolidge and Jon Gries, we’ve got an entirely new cast for the season, with the latter two picking up with their Season 1 characters of Tanya and Greg Hunt. The only difference? The pair is married now.

And honestly, she deserves better—like, Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) better.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></code>

Following the same structure as the first season, we’re following five different narratives, which consist of three groups of guests, the management staff, and those native to Sicily, Italy, which is where the hotel is located.

First up, we have Daphne (Meghann Fahy) and Cameron Sullivan (Theo James), who are vacationing with their friends, Harper and Ethan Spiller, though the Spillers (mostly Harper) have a dim view of the Sullivans.

As mentioned before, Tanya and Greg are attempting to spend a romantic vacation together, though Tanya brought her assistant, Portia (Haley Lu Richardson), along, and Greg is too distracted with work phone calls.

Three generations of Di Grassos are also staying at the hotel, which includes patriarch, Bert (F. Murray Abraham), his son, Dominic (Michael Imperioli), and his grandson, Albie (Adam DiMarco).

Behind the scenes at The White Lotus, Valentina (Sabrina Impacciatore) is running a tight ship, attempting to keep track of two local Sicilians, Mia (Beatrice Grannò) and Lucia (Simona Tabasco), who are running a bit of an independent business on the hotel’s premises.

So, without further ado, these are the funniest lines we’ve heard so far from The White Lotus Season 2. And yes, half of them are from Tanya.

Tanya McQuoid-Hunt (Jennifer Coolidge)

“I was told that the cheese here was made by a blind nun in a basement.”

“You’re gonna have to get lost.”

“What macaroons?”

“I was seeing all of these faces of men with these very effeminate hairstyles, and then I saw you and your eyes were like shark eyes.”

“I must’ve been dissociating.”

“I really did only eat three!”

Greg Hunt (Jon Gries)
Fabio Lovino / HBO

“You ate all the macaroons, didn’t you?”

“It’s hot out—I got swamp crotch.”

Daphne Sullivan (Meghann Fahy)

“Honestly, Cam and I don’t even watch the news anymore.”

“I love a good binge.”

Harper Spiller (Aubrey Plaza)
Francesca D’Angelo / HBO

“They don’t vote, Ethan.”

“Really? You guys don’t take sleeping pills?”

“Is that what happens when you’re rich for too long? Your brain just atrophies?”

Cameron Sullivan (Theo James)
Fabio Lovino / HBO

“Like, I’m just so over the whole news cycle, you know?”

The White Lotus Season 2 airs on HBO every Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.

The Most Important Wine Time of the Year!
Jason Koeppel

Halloween has officially come and gone. It’s now time to think beyond the wine that pairs with your fun size packet of Sour Patch Kids.

Now that we have entered peak-holiday season, we wanted to arm you with answers to the two most common questions that have plagued wine buyers:

1. What are the best sub-$20 wines to serve at my Thanksgiving table?
  • Riesling: It’s not just sticky sweet. There’s a range of different styles. The reason it works so well is most are lower in alcohol. This means that you can drink more of it and keep your endurance going all day long… and you’ll have a better chance staying awake for that NFL triple header!
  • Cremant d’AlsaceIt’s always festive to uncork bubbly, and it actually tends to pair well with thanksgiving foods! These are higher in acidity and refreshing – but also jam packed with berry flavors. Move over delicious canned Ocean Spray cranberry sauce… there’s a new sheriff in town!
  • Zinfandel: No red wine grape is more synonymous with America than this! Zinfandels give you an incredible high-value bang for your buck; the grape has waned in popularity a bit over the years, but that just means there’s even more value to be found in the good ones.
2. What’s the best wine to get my boss who I want to impress? How about my in-laws who are wine snobs?

Many people think big “brand name wines” are always great because they’re familiar, and they also give your boss an idea of how much money you spent (aka “how much you appreciate them”).

Those cliche names include Caymus and The Prisoner from California, or Dom Perignon and Veuve Cliquot from Champagne. There’s nothing wrong with those wines–but if you want to stand out from the rest, and really knock them off their feet–consider these names:

  • Grower Champagne (like Aubry): Unlike the big brand names above, Aubry is a grower champagne. He farms his own vineyards rather than sourcing grapes in bulk from other growers. It’s this high attention to detail, seeing projects through from start to finish, that you know your boss appreciates.
  • Highly Rated BordeauxIt’s crazy to think that $150 per bottle is a great value, but that’s exactly what wines like this present. Ten years ago, Bordeaux was arguably known as the most expensive wine region in the world. It’s more recently fallen out of fashion, and collectible wines from neighboring regions like Burgundy and Rhone have shot sky-high, while the wines of Bordeaux have remained fairly stable. This presents a gifting (and investment!) opportunity for you, as a wine savvy shopper impressing your in-laws, boss, etc.

Will you be taking part in this amazing WineText deal? Make sure to tweet us @137pm and show us which bottles you received!

J.T. Tuimoloau is the Ballplayer of the Week

Whereas offense creates soaring arias of innovation and talent (i.e. they do cool shit), defense exists purely to eradicate that. Offense is optimism, a belief in progress; defense is pessimism, a literal attempt to get those kids off your lawn. When you look back at the most indelible moments in college football history (Doug Flutie’s Hail Mary, Vince Young’s title-winning jaunt vs USC, the Kick-Six), they’re inevitably the story of a guy not getting tackled; there is no glamor in defensive football. But J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State’s sophomore defensive end, is trying to change that.

Despite strong performances from starrier names like quarterback CJ Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., J.T. Tuimoloau was the catalyst for #2 Ohio State’s 44-31 demolition of #13 Penn State. In one of the most dominant and comprehensive performances ever from a defender, Tuimoloau racked up six tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one tipped pass (which was then intercepted by a teammate) and two interceptions (one of which he converted into a pick-six). By doing so, he became the first guy ever to put up such a statline and just the third FBS player in the past 15 seasons to notch two sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and a touchdown. Unsurprisingly, he was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

<code><iframe width="876" height="493" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></code>

A five-star recruit in the class of 2021, Tuimoloau has been a productive, if quiet, member of a loaded Buckeyes team. Tuimoloau’s 5.5 sacks over his first season-and-a-half are certainly nothing to scoff at, but still aren’t gob-stopping. In this sense, Tuimoloau’s masterclass against Penn State served as a broader introduction to the breadth and depth of his skillset. He shed blockers, dancing around them with quick feet and simply moving them to the side with strong hands; he showcased his shocking athleticism by dropping into coverage to snag one interception and then lunging into a passing lane to pick off a screen pass.

Against an elite opponent on the road, Tuimoloau more or less contributed 21 of Ohio State’s 44 points—the Buckeyes scored touchdowns after his first interception and strip sack, taking advantage of the short field that his heroics provided; he housed his second pick himself. As such, this is the end of Tuimoloau’s relative anonymity—Lebron James tweeted about him, twice!

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

Although Tuimoloau isn’t eligible for the NFL Draft until 2024, this game will be proof of concept for why he should be picked towards the top of it;  he’s graduated from being some guy to being The Guy.

SOUTH2 WEST8 and Reebok Link on Japanese Fly-Fishing Inspired Kicks

Reebok is already getting a good start to the month of November. Today, the iconic brand is announcing their very first collaborative project with Japanese clothing brand SOUTH2 WEST8. For twenty years, SOUTH2 WEST8 has been the go-to Sapporo spot for all things fishing and nature, combining technical function and fashion, and now they are going global.

The brand, which is known for their use of outdoor apparel and gear such as waders and rods that focus on the traditional Japanese method of fly-fishing, “Tenkara,” is teaming up with Reebok to drop the SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge, which will be available November 5 exclusively from SOUTH2 WEST8 and in Japan before its wider global release on November 18 from Reebok and select retailers.

The Sapporo-based clothing store has applied its unique point of view to Reebok’s Zig Kinetica II Edge, a technical, outdoor-inspired modern interpretation of the brand’s iconic Zig sport style shoe. Here’s some of the details that you can expect to find: a textile camouflage upper embellished by lush-green suede overlays, a spiky rubber toe cap, green laces, and a green heel loop, which completes the military-inspired look.

The SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge also features a black and grey midsole at the bottom, which represents responsive Floatride Fuel cushioning above an anti-slip 30% pre-consumer recycled Vibram Ecostep lugged outsole.

Here’s what SOUTH2 WEST8’s brand director had to say about the partnership:

“We were inspired by a visual of an outdoor field colliding with an urban city and the idea of linking the two, SOUTH2 WEST8 holds little interest in designs that are overly sophisticated or high-tech, in favor of those that are athletically functional. In this respect, the Zig design aptly maintains its functionality, while possessing decorative and assertive elements with great visual volume and presence.

These characteristics make it a perfect match for SOUTH2 WEST8 wear. By incorporating symbolic SOUTH2 WEST8 textile designs, we were able to further enhance the affinity between our two brands. I think this shoe will be appreciated by people who love the outdoors, by fashion-devotees, and by those who are not satisfied with the same things as everyone around them.”

As mentioned earlier, the SOUTH2 WEST8 x Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge will be available November 5 exclusively from SOUTH2 WEST8 and in Japan before its wider global release on November 18 from and select retailers.

AEW Full Gear 2022: Matches and Predictions

It’s safe to say there’s always some backstage drama circulating throughout the AEW locker room. But you can’t deny just how good episodes of Dynamite usually are, even with all the backstage dirt that pops up in all the dirtsheets. AEW is also great for presenting quality PPVs, which is why many fans are super excited about coming on Saturday, November 19. The 2022 installment of AEW Full Gear is coming our way and you know what’s on the docket – big-time matchups, championship encounters, and newsworthy moments that’ll be all over your timeline in the form of GIFs and memes. So let’s get right into it and break all my AEW Full Gear 2022 predictions.

AEW Full Gear 2022 Predictions

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>
Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor), Rocky Romero, and “A Very Mysterious, Very Evil Partner” vs. The Factory (QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, Lee Johnson, Nick Comoroto, and Cole Karter)

Preview & Predictions: The Factory has really dug itself into a hole this time! QT Marshall’s steel steps-assisted piledriver to Danhausen has taken the face-painted deviant to a “very evil” place – now the chances of him coming back with an even darker and vicious demeanor to get his revenge on QT and his stable are very high! Best Friends will easily tear through The Factory thanks to Danhausen’s mean streak coming to fruition during this 10-man encounter.

Brian Cage vs. Ricky Starks (AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament Semifinals)

Preview & Predictions: IT’S RICKY STARKS’ “ABSOLUTE” TIME TO SHINE! As soon as the participants for this AEW World Championship Eliminator were announced, I bet my entire savings account on the master of the “Roshambo” coming out on the end of it as the victor. Now that he’s made it this far to the semifinals to take on Brian Cage, I’m confident about his chances of getting the win here. I loved watching these two go at it for the FTW Championship back then and I’m hyped to see what they can produce here. Starks shall prevail here, go to the post-PPV Dynamite to defeat Ethan Page, and then go on to Winter is Coming to face the AEW World Champion (more on that later…).

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedDeath Triangle (Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix) (c) vs. The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)) (AEW World Trios Championship)</code>
Death Triangle (Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix) (c) vs. The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)) (AEW World Trios Championship)

Preview & Predictions: Now that the controversy behind the “Brawl Out” at All Out 2022 has subsided, the red carpet has been rolled out for The Elite’s grand return. But during their absence, the Death Triangle has been putting on bangers as the second-ever AEW World Trios Champions. Pac, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fénix have done an amazing job at showcasing those titles with amazing performances on a constant basis. And now I’m expecting them to go out there and put on yet another classic bout against Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson.

I get the feeling that this match will lead right into the sad breakup of Death Triangle. There will come a point during this match when Pac will present Fénix with the opportunity to clock their foes with a hammer as he did once before. And just like last time, Fénix will deny his fiendish ways. But this time, that babyface decision will cost Death Triangle the titles as Omega will capitalize on this moment of distraction and lay out Fénix long enough for The Elite to reclaim the belts.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedThe Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) (c) vs. Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) (AEW World Tag Team Championship)</code>
The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) (c) vs. Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) (AEW World Tag Team Championship)

Preview & Predictions: “SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS!” *clears throat* Had to get that out of my system real quick, excuse me. I’ve been more than pleased with the development of The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn as a super-over act in AEW lately. Their first reign as the AEW World Tag Team Champions still has the massive backing of the fans, which has given all of their title defenses and promos that extra sense of energy and excitement. The previous champs have earned themselves another opportunity at the straps, which means we’re due for a third amazing tag team sprint between these two duos.

The biggest change from the last two matches is the more heelish changes put on display by Swerve Strickland. He’s done some devious things in the ring lately and has gone over the deep end with his treatment of “Daddy Ass.” Keith Lee is none too pleased with these developments from his partner, which leads me to believe that Swerve in Our Glory will have a major moment of miscommunication during this match that will cost them everything. I’m predicting a successful title defense from The Acclaimed here and a future breakup angle between Lee & Swerve in the process.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedJade Cargill (c) vs. Nyla Rose (AEW TBS Championship)</code>
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Nyla Rose (AEW TBS Championship)

Preview & Predictions: Jade Cargill is tired of all the funny ha-ha games! Nyla Rose has been working the true TBS Champion’s last nerves by parading around with her title and eluding her every time Jade tries to recapture her prize. All the mind games directed at Jade are making her even more pissed off than she usually is, which Nyla is clearly hoping to tap into to get her off her game by the time Full Gear arrives for this match. It will all be for naught, though – Jade will channel all that unbridled rage into destroying Nyla and getting her championship prize back around her rightful waist.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedWardlow (c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Powerhouse Hobbs (Three-Way Match for the AEW TNT Championship)</code>
Wardlow (c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Powerhouse Hobbs (Three-Way Match for the AEW TNT Championship)

Preview & Predictions: I SURE HOPE BIG E’S WATCHING THIS ONE! Wardlow, Samoa Joe, and Powerhouse Hobbs are the type of big boys that he loves to watch come to blows and put on a Kaiju-sized encounter. I’m pretty damn hyped to watch all three of these behemoths try their damndest to walk away with the TNT Championship while shaking the very foundation of the Prudential Center. I love me some Joe and I love me some Hobbs, but I just know that Wardlow isn’t dropping the strap he won this past July anytime soon. My AEW Full Gear 2022 predictions point to Hobbs getting the dreaded “Powerbomb Symphony” as Wardlow retains his title.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedToni Storm (c) vs. Jamie Hayter (Interim AEW Women's World Championship)</code>
Toni Storm (c) vs. Jamie Hayter (Interim AEW Women’s World Championship)

Preview & Predictions: “HAYTE, HAYTE, HAYTE, HAYTE, HAYTE!” I’m a major “Hayter” that can’t wait for the day when Jamie Hayter finally breaks away from Britt Baker and goes on a solo rampage. Sadly, they’re still in cahoots with each other. But Hayter has maintained her strong streak of putting on good-to-great matches and keeping her fanbase pleased on a regular basis. Toni Storm’s been going strong as the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion and my gut is telling me she’s not dropping the belt before she has a chance to square off with the legit champ in Thunder Rosa. And that pretty much means Hayer’s gonna eat a loss here. But I’m confident that she’ll put on a career-defining match in the process with one of her better dancing partners as of late.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedLuchasaurus vs. "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry (Steel Cage Match)</code>
Luchasaurus vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry (Steel Cage Match)

Preview & Predictions: This feud has been cooking for a good while now, hasn’t it? It technically started when Jungle Boy eliminated Christian Cage during the Casino Battle Royal at Double or Nothing 2021. Then both men entered into a mentor/young up-and-comer partnership where Christian provided his expertise to Jack Perry. That soon led to Perry and Luchasarus becoming tag team champs with Christian right alongside them. But soon, that alliance came to a sad end once they lost the titles and Christian’s support in the process. A Luchasarus heel turn, a newly turned heel Christian, and a highly pissed-off Jungle Boy have now culminated in this epic encounter in a Steel Cage.

I’m quite confident in this match producing a Match of the Year candidate. Perry’s resilience will truly be tested here as he takes the fight to his former partner, which will expectedly result in some brutal back-and-forth action between the two. Christian’s presence won’t matter a bit here since he’s still injured and can’t do much of anything to impact this bout’s outcome. In the end, my AEW Full Gear 2022 predictions point to a huge win for Jungle Boy via a daredevil act onto Luchasaurs from atop the cage.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedJeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Sting and Darby Allin</code>
Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Sting and Darby Allin

Preview & Predictions: In the year of our lord and savior 2022, Jeff Jarrett and Sting are rekindling their TNA feud in AEW! As someone that was hyped beyond belief for “Double J” vs the “Stinger” back at Bound for Glory 2006, I’m pretty tickled by the fact they’ll be facing each other once again in a tag team bout alongside their young stallions. I’m fully expecting this match to start out as a fair and balanced tag team affair before one of those famously overbooked Jarrett finishes comes into play. I’m fully expecting a ref bump followed by a guitar smash to Sting that won’t affect him whatsoever – while Darby Allin incapacitates Jay Lethal on the outside, Sting will clock Jarrett in the gut with his bat, plant him with a Scorpion Death Drop, and make him tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock to finish him off.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedChris Jericho (c) vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sammy Guevara (Four-Way Match for the ROH World Championship)</code>
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sammy Guevara (Four-Way Match for the ROH World Championship)

Preview & Predictions: I’ve been a massive fan of Ring of Honor since 2004, so it’s been pretty cool witnessing the brand and its championships merged with the AEW product. I was shocked when Chris Jericho defeated Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship. And I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Jericho’s better-than-expected title defenses against the likes of Bandido and Colt Cabana. The ongoing wars between Bryan Danielson, Castagnoli, and Sammy Guevara have kept them all entrenched in the ROH World title scene, which has led to this big-time championship matchup getting booked.

I’m very much looking forward to this Four-Way clash taking place. I’m sure Danielson and Castagnoli will join forces to get the edge on Jericho and Guevara, and vice versa. At some point, Danielson and Castagnoli will embrace the art of competition (even among stablemates such as themselves) and engage in a stiff back-and-forth bout of action. Jericho and Guevara will certainly disrupt their encounter and continue the greatness of this match at hand. I’m placing all my bets on Danielson being the one to make Jericho tap out, which will make the “American Dragon” a two-time ROH World Champion and someone that’ll be damn near impossible to beat.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedDr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Saraya</code>
Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Saraya

Preview & Predictions: SHE’S CLEARED! Saraya clearly walked into All Elite Wrestling with her working boots on with one goal in mind – to make sure she silences all the doubters and prove that she’s ready to impress during the second run of her illustrious career. Seeing as how Dr. Britt Baker is positioned as a pillar of AEW, it makes sense for Saraya to take aim at her for her very first in-ring exhibition with the company. The promos between these two have been great and the heat building between them has gotten me way more interested in this match than I expected to be once it was announced. Since this is Saraya’s official wrestling debut for AEW on PPV, I’m quite confident in choosing her as the victor here as a part of my AEW Full Gear 2022 predictions.

<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedJon Moxley (c) vs. MJF (AEW World Championship)</code>
Jon Moxley (c) vs. MJF (AEW World Championship)

Preview & Predictions: Ever since the post-PPV events of All Out 2022 transpired, the AEW World Championship scene has been thrown for a loop. MJF returned to the company to earn himself a title shot, a tournament was put in place to crown the new champion, and Jon Moxley overcame the odds once again to reclaim the title. Now MJF is heeding the advice of William Regal to man up and try his hand at winning the title the proper way – by challenging the champ at this PPV and not going the easy way out by ambushing him once he’s thoroughly weakened.

Now there’s another factor that makes it seem like MJF will go the respectful route – his issues with Stokely Hathaway and the stable he put together known as The Firm. MJF’s hired guns turned on him once Stokely gave them the OK (he could no longer take the disrespect, obviously). MJF and Moxley will become uneasy allies against The Firm and, in the process, will play into the storyline of MJF becoming more of a babyface.

When Moxley and MJF finally meet, they will have a match for the ages. And I’m fully expecting MJF to stick to his promise of not using his Dynamite Diamond Ring and clashing with Moxley in the fairest fashion possible. In the end, MJF will finally win the big one and begin his first reign as AEW World Champion.

Reddit Collectible Avatars are Trending: Why It Matters

Reddit released digital collectible avatars on their website and mobile app. Why does it matter? Because they have ~430 million monthly average users, according to their previous annual review.

When news broke that Reddit had onboarded 2.8M people onto blockchain technology, according to Dune Analytics, the NFT Community on Twitter took notice.

For comparison, OpenSea is the most popular NFT marketplace and has 2.3M users, according to DappRadar.

What are Reddit Collectible Avatars?

Reddit Collectible Avatars are limited-edition avatars created by independent artists.

When a user sets their Collectible Avatar as their profile picture on Reddit, they can mix-and-match the avatar’s clothes and accessories, and their profile image in the comments section will have a glowing effect.

Collectible Avatars live on the blockchain. They are created on the Polygon network, an Ethereum-compatible scaling solution, often preferred for its low cost transactions.

Other well-known projects leveraging the Polygon network include Decentraland, as well as Starbucks’ recently announced Odyssey Rewards Membership Program.

Empowering Artists

Many of the artists who created the first series of Collectible Avatars came from popular Reddit communities and subreddits, like r/Comics.

The goal was to empower artists to create and sell their work, which is why each artist was paid for every Collectible Avatar sold on the Reddit platform.

In addition, artists are entitled to receive royalties from secondary sales on other open marketplaces.

The Top 5 Collectible Avatars

According to, a website created by members of the Reddit community, below are the Top 5 Collectible Avatars according to their floor price, as of this writing:

#1: The Hands – The Senses

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

#2: Midas Touch – Poieeeyee

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

#3: Golden Hands – Cute Cool And Creepy

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

#4: The Assembler – Celestial Assembly

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

#5: Diamond Diablo – Wearing Your Emotions

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

What’s Next for Collectible Avatars?

Additional avatar collections are being released on a routine basis.

The r/avartartrading subreddit has over 11K members and is continuing to grow.

The marriage between NFT Reddit and NFT Twitter got off to a rocky start. Notable Ethereum NFT collectors, like Franklin, were banned from the subreddit less than a minute after posting his famous slideshow showcasing his Bored Apes.

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

Mainstream Adoption

Many people are saying Reddit Collectible Avatars could be the Trojan horse that onboards the mainstream to NFTs without them really knowing it.

In fact, Reddit made a conscious decision to omit the phrase “NFT” on their website and communications regarding these Collectible Avatars.

<code><p class = "twitter-tweet"></p></code>

Once popularized in the movie “The Matrix,” the “red pill” represents the willingness to learn a potentially unsettling or life-changing truth.

In Web3, the truth is that blockchain and digital assets will power the future of art, culture, entertainment, and beyond.

The red pill can be tough to swallow. So Reddit, along with other companies and platforms in their wake, may opt for a more subtle approach to onboard the masses.
