If there’s one thing I always champion about AEW, it’s the company’s ability to create compelling PPV match cards since the time between them is spread out so far apart.
The Road to Revolution 2022 has been building some big-time matches for months now and now I can’t wait to see what finally goes down at this upcoming show on March 6. We’re gonna have championships on the line, blood feuds entering their latest chapters, and some shocking results when it comes to who’ll prevail & who’ll fall in defeat. Will Adam Page retain his AEW World Championship over Adam Cole or will the former NXT star capture his first AEW gold? Is Dr. Britt Baker’s AEW Women’s World Championship coming to an end or will Thunder Rosa fail to capture the top women’s title in the company?
I’m going to attempt to answer all those questions and more as I preview the 2022 installment of the AEW Revolution special event series!

Preview & Predictions: You already know how this one is gonna unfold, folks. HOOK’s on fire and suplexing/choking out bums to his heart’s content. QT Marshall has been egging on the young superstar on the rise and it’s gotten him to this point. And once he finally finds himself in the ring with Tazz’s young killer, Marshall’s gonna be driven into the ground and put to sleep in five minutes or less. HOOK FTW!

Preview & Predictions: If you’ve been keeping tabs on AEW Dark: Elevation and Dark, then chances are high you’ve witnessed the bad blood brewing between these two. Leyla Hirsch has grown increasingly frustrated with her team losses alongside Kris Statlander and Red Velvet. Once she finally broke ties with them, Hirsch flew into an uncontrollable rage soon after by attacking them both on multiple occasions.
Now Statlander has been forced to ditch her happy-go-lucky “alien” demeanor and get a bit more serious to get revenge on her former ally. These two ladies hit harder than most, which is why I’m more excited than most to see them bring their feud to a close here. I’m predicting a Hirsch victory since I think her heel turn is set to kick into overdrive. By decisively upsetting Statlander, this will set Hirsch to do bigger things down the line.

Preview & Predictions: Now this match came out of left field! I figured AEW was gonna wait until Rey Fenix was good and ready to come back to bring this feud to a close. But imagine my surprise when Pac and Penta Oscuro decided to call upon the walking behemoth known as Erick Redbeard instead! Now we’re set to see Erick go blow to blow with Brody King, Malakai Black exchange vicious leg kicks with Penta, and Buddy Matthews test his agility & strength against Pac.
This will definitely be a fun one! Chaos will certainly ensue as all six men find themselves in the ring brawling simultaneously at some point near the closing stretch. I feel like the last two men that’ll be standing once the smoke clears are Erick and Brody. And I’m gonna have to hedge my winning bet here on Brody finding it in him to overpower his equally large foe and nab the win for his House of Black stablemates.

Preview & Predictions: Tony Khan’s been doing a great job of pushing Jade Cargill to the forefront as a potential megastar for his company. And so far, it’s been paying dividends. While she’s still a bit green in the ring, Jade is steadily improving in between the ropes. Her Wonder Woman-like build, larger-than-life persona, and fun reign as AEW’s inaugural TBS Champion is doing wonders for her career thus far.
After running through her fair share of worthy foes, Jade is set to square off with someone that’s vastly improved in the last year or so – Tay Conti. Conti has done some great work during her post-NXT career and has shown everyone that she’s capable of wrestling a shockingly captivating match whenever possible. I’m sure Conti will give Jade one of her best matches to date here, but it won’t result in a win. Jade’s going to maintain her undefeated record and keep her “TBS” (“That B***h Show”) on the air.

Preview & Predictions: Andrade El Idolo is getting into the PPV mix once again. And this time, he’ll have his Andrade-Hardy Family Office stablemates at the ready. Their opponents will be the combined trio of Sting, Darby Allin, and the reigning & defending TNT Champion Sammy Guevara. I figured we were going to get a Three-Way Dance between Sammy, Andrade, and Darby here over AEW’s midcard championship, but I guess that’s being saved for a future edition of Dynamite.
As for the match itself, I hope this one turns into pure anarchy. I wanna see Andrade mix it up with both Darby & Allin, Matt Hardy taking a few shots at “The Icon” Sting, Sting returning them in kind, and Darby launching himself like a lawn dart at Isiah Kassidy. It’s pretty rare when Hardy and his squad get any sort of big win. But with Andrade on their team, I think they’ll finally eke out a major victory. With Andrade getting the pin over Sammy here, it’ll play right into that future Three-Way Dance I alluded to earlier for the TNT Championship.

Preview & Predictions: Christian Cage’s years of tag team experience paid off handsomely as his tutelage led to Jurassic Express claiming the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus have been enjoying a solid reign thus far, but now they’re set to come up against their toughest challenge to date in the form of The Young Bucks and reDRagon. Adam Cole’s four besties are vying for some tag team gold at the very same time, which will definitely present some bickering between the two duos.
The ongoing disagreements between Matt & Nick Jackson and Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly are going to bubble over big time here! At first, they’ll all make a concerted effort to jump Jurassic Express. But their temporary alliance will eventually break down and lead to all three teams equally assaulting each other. The Bucks and reDRagon will eventually cancel each other out, which will give Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus the perfect opportunity to nab the winning pin over one of them.
Jurassic Express will emerge with their tag team titles still intact, while the other two teams will finally ditch their fractured friendship once and for all. The inner war between the current members of The Elite will blow over big time post-PPV!
<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q5ZNwTblHjI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedBryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley</code>
Preview & Predictions: Jon Moxley made it abundantly clear that if he can’t bleed with you, then he simply can’t run alongside you. Bryan Danielson clearly understood that way of thinking, which is why he made the decision to give Moxley his match at this PPV in hopes of coming out on the end of it with a future stablemate at his side. So now we’re set to see a match that hasn’t been contested on a big wrestling stage since 2013.
On such a stacked PPV card, this match sticks out as another one that’ll be one of the very best. Danielson is currently in the second golden age of his career, while Moxley is free of his alcoholic demons and is in the best shape of his life. I’m looking forward to both men producing the sort of violence Danielson loves basking in. Once the dust clears, I think the “American Dragon” will be the one who ends up coming out on top. And with that win, he’ll finally convince Moxley to take him up on his offer to take the younger AEW greats under their wing and begin their takeover of AEW.
<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/k1UO0pPElCo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedChris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston</code>
Preview & Predictions: Chris Jericho told Eddie Kingston right to his face that he doesn’t have the tools needed to win the big one. And he’s right to some extent – Eddie has been unable to eke out those career-defining wins during all of his PPV bouts thus far. But after being fired up so much by Jericho’s live lambasting, it’s clear that a fire will light up Eddie to the point where he’ll go even harder than he has in the past.
I’m not expecting this match to be a barnburner from bell to bell ’cause I think it’ll be a brutal brawl with some suplexes mixed in for good measure. Jericho’s gonna get most of the offense since he’s the more crafty veteran of the two. But Eddie’s scrappy nature will make the crowd go wild once he starts making a comeback. My gut is telling me Eddie will do the unthinkable by overcoming the “Demo God” and finally winning the proverbial big one. Eddie has fallen in defeat to Jon Moxley, Miro, and CM Punk on PPV. He’s not gonna face that same sad fate here, though (I hope…).

Preview & Predictions: The stakes are extra high for this one! And that’s because of the insane lineup of talent we have in place here. We got the big boys in Keith Lee, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Wardlow. We got the crafty veteran and ladder match pro in Christian Cage. And we got the wildcard winners in Orange Cassidy and Ricky Starks.
So my gut’s telling me Lee and Hobbs will cancel each other out by taking each other out of the match in a major way. Cassidy and Starks will get their chances to sneak up the ladder while everyone else is preoccupied, but they’ll both fail in their attempts. Christian will surely have a moment where it looks like he’s closest to winning as well, but I think my pick for the winner of this match will make sure “Captian Charisma” comes up short.
I’m betting on a Wardlow win here that’ll get him that coveted title match he so richly deserves! And once he cashes in that title shot, I just know he’s gonna pull off the big one and eventually beat the hell out of MJF & the rest of The Pinnacle when he does.
<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PjbhTHpJE1E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedDr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (c) vs. Thunder Rosa (AEW Women's World Championship)</code>
Preview & Predictions: Ever since Thunder Rosa defeated Dr. Britt Baker in the first-ever Lights Out Match in AEW history, I’ve been chomping at the bit for those two to run it back once again. Even though Baker was defeated by Rosa, that major L didn’t affect her win-loss record whatsoever. And after that monumental matchup, Baker went ahead and eventually captured the AEW Women’s World Championship.
AEW kept the two ladies apart for long enough to build up plenty of anticipation for this PPV meeting. And the stakes are even higher now that the top women’s title in the company is on the line. Baker’s reign has been going strong since May 30, 2021, which should be applauded. But now I think the time is ripe for a major title change in the women’s division, which is why I presume Rosa is walking out with the strap. Rosa seemingly has Baker’s number, so I’m confident that she’ll win her first championship in AEW here.
<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1x_72Mqv5Qs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hedCM Punk vs. MJF (Dog Collar Match)</code>
Preview & Predictions: My jaw hit the floor when MJF did the unthinkable by putting CM Punk to sleep at first, then proceeding to have his match restarted and STILL get a winning pin over Chicago’s favorite son. This blood feud has been raging on for a while now and now it’s entering its second stage with a special stipulation match on PPV. All of MJF’s mentions of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper inspired Punk to make this rematch a Dog Collar Match, which I highly approve of.
There’s gonna be a lotta blood dripped during this one! Punk’s rage will force him to go above and beyond in doing everything in his power to brutalize MJF beyond recognition. And I’m sure MJF will go into survival mode as he fights desperately to get another big victory over his latest rival. I’m guessing the closing moments of this bout will see Wardlow pop up to offer some aid to his boss. But unlike the first MJF/Punk match, Wardlow’s assistance will surprisingly backfire and result in MJF losing this time around.
Punk’s win will set MJF off so much that he’ll get into a shouting match with his bodyguard post-match, which will finally push Wardlow to do what everyone has wanted him to do for months – beat the hell outta MJF and cut ties with him so he can become the solo superstar everyone envisions him being!
<code><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7TUzOOB445M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>","hed"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Adam Cole (AEW World Championship)</code>
Preview & Predictions: And now we have arrived at the Battle of the AEW Adam’s! The AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page is set to defend his title after putting on some bangers with the likes of Daniel Bryan and Lance Archer. And the man he’s set to engage with is His former Bullet Club brethren Adam Cole (BAY BAY!). Cole has been on a roll since coming over to AEW and has done a great job of building himself into a top contender for AEW’s top prize, plus he and Page are naturally built for each other as perfect opponents.
This match actually took place in ROH and it was awesome, so I just know those two men are gonna produce the same level of quality for this PPV main event. I’m guessing this will get 20+ minutes to truly match the high expectation everyone has for it and send the crowd him happy once it’s done. Page’s reign is just getting going and I don’t see it ending anytime soon, which is why I have to go with the “Hangman” here. Page is definitely handing Cole his very first official loss in AEW.
