November 19th’s NF3 Recap: NFL NFTs, Macy’s Parade NFT, and ConstitutionDAO

As the world continues to innovate around NFTs and related technology, so do the brands and businesses who see the potential in the tech.

This week has cemented that statement even further as we discovered that the NFL will be releasing their own NFTs. Furthermore, Macy’s will be launching their own Thanksgiving Parade Balloon NFTs. Also, we will discuss the ConstitutionDAO and the current state of the US Constitution.

If you’re just tuning into our NF3 Recap, be sure to check out our last edition.

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. NFL NFTs are now available to collect
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The NFL announced that they will be offering fans digital commemorable tickets in the form of NFTs, via the Polygon sidechain. The digital tickets will only be offered with the purchase of select NFL game tickets.

Fans will receive their NFL NFT tickets in their Ticketmaster Digital Wallet. Ticketmaster will automatically create a digital wallet for fans that will store any NFTs they receive on the marketplace, in their wallet.

On Thursday, the NFL also distributed its first batch of commemorative NFTs via Ticketmaster with the help of Polygon, which includes 125 distinct souvenirs for each of the league’s 32 clubs.

Furthermore, in September, the NFL announced its partnership with Dapper Labs to develop its own NFT collectible marketplace on the Flow blockchain. The marketplace is planned to launch during the current NFL regular season, which concludes on January 9.

It’s fun to see how the NFL is attempting to broaden its reach to consumers by offering them new and innovative ways to interact with the sport and their favorite teams.

2. Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade drops their own NFT
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Macy’s is capturing the joy and excitement of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on the blockchain, by creating a collection of parade-themed balloon NFTs available to mint for free on November 25th, Thanksgiving day.

There will be 9500 of these historical NFTs available total and will be offered on Sweet’s NFT marketplace built on Polygon as well. Although the NFTs will be free to mint, 10% of the resale profits will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This means you can feel good knowing you’re getting a free NFT collectible on an environmentally friendly sidechain, and you’re helping a good cause if you decide to resell your Macy’s NFT.

The NFT collection will feature many of the popular balloons seen in the parade, dating all the way back to the 1920s. Additionally, Macy’s will also auction off 10 Ultra Rare NFTs from Nov 19 to Nov. 30, with all the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.

Make sure to catch the Thanksgiving Day Parade televised on NBC starting at 9 a.m. (ET) on Thanksgiving Day.

3. ConstitutionDAO raises $40M in an effort to buy the US Constitution
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The word is spreading quickly! The ConstitutionDAO successfully raised over $40 million in a matter of only 72 hours in an effort to buy an original copy of the US Constitution. This is the greatest crowdfund for a tangible item ever, speaking for both cryptocurrency and cold-hard cash.

Despite the ConstitutionDAO and its’ 17,437 donors, they were not able to purchase the US Constitution. Although the auction concluded at $43.2 million, which is less than the $49.5 million raised by the ConstitutionDAO, the estimated cost of insurance, storage, auction fees, and delivery, among several other expenses, barred the DAO from bidding any higher.

The winner was unveiled Friday afternoon as hedge fund billionaire, Ken Griffin.

Those who invested in the DAO will be able to receive a pro-rata refund (essentially minus gas fees) via Juicebox. More information from the ConstitutionDAO is expected very shortly.

Other cool stuff

Hold on, that’s not all that has occurred over the past week. There is still some other cool stuff that we can’t forget to mention!

As a means of thanking its faithful supporters, the Dallas Mavericks are giving out NFTs! The Mavs NFTs were released earlier this month by the basketball franchise. These fan tokens, according to Mark Cuban, may be collected, purchased, or traded.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Fans who want to get their hands on these fantastic Mavericks NFTs may do so when they purchase a game ticket from the Dallas Mavericks store.

In other interesting news, a new website has made headlines by offering thousands of NFTs accessible for free to download. In a tribute to the pirate site The Pirate Bay, The NFT Bay has compiled a massive collection of images of NFTs in an attempt to demonstrate the silliness of the NFT bubble.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Keep in mind that this site doesn’t actually give your ownership of an NFT, it simply supplies the images from popular NFTs, to download.

That’s all we have for today. Thanks for sticking with us and we will see you again next week!

November 16th’s NF3: Barbados Goes Meta, Genie Swap, NFTfi and More NFT News

Thanks for joining us for today’s NF3 recap. If you haven’t already checked out our past NF3 recap, you can find it here.

Today’s NF3 is going to cover some very interesting topics that will not disappoint. Barbados is set to become the first sovereign nation with an Embassy in the Metaverse. Also, there’s a new NFT marketplace aggregator in town. Lastly, South Africa’s NFTfi raised an impressive $5 million so people can use NFTs as collateral for loans.

You can read all about this news plus more, in today’s NF3.

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. Barbados set to become the first sovereign nation with an embassy in the metaverse
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

On Sunday, the Barbadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade inked a deal for the formation of a virtual embassy with Decentraland, one of the most popular metaverses to date.

Barbados will become the first government in the world to recognize digital sovereign land with the opening of the embassy, which is set for January.

The proposals were evaluated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and many other governmental entities for several months.

Barbados is one of the most welcoming countries when it comes to crypto and has been a leader in the creation of a central bank digital currency. It will be interesting to see how a virtual embassy will operate in the metaverse, and what the general guidelines will be.

Will the VR aspect allow the process to be more frictionless, or will it lead to unforeseen complications? Only time will tell. Either way, it’s exciting and without a doubt a huge leap for the metaverse.

2. Genie Swap, Ethereum’s frist NFT marketplace aggregator
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Genie Swap is Ethereum’s first NFT marketplace aggregator. Genie users may purchase, sell, and trade across all major NFT marketplaces with a single transaction, no matter how many NFTs they have. Currently, Genie Swap supports ERC-721’s and ERC-1155 support is coming very soon.

Genie Swap has been in private beta testing since August. Users of the Genie Swap platform will benefit from four primary advantages:

  1. In a single interface, you can access all of the major NFT markets
  2. In a single transaction, you may purchase and sell NFTs in bulk
  3. When buying and selling NFTs in bulk, you’ll likely save money on gas
  4. When purchasing and selling, more efficient routing is possible

Moreover, Genie Swap has what they call their Genie List. The Genie List allows users to batch their NFTs together and list them all on one or multiple marketplaces at the same time.

As of now, Genie only supports OpenSea and Rarible, but plans to bring more marketplaces online in the near future.

These batch listings are known as Meta Listings, which allows sellers to optimize their NFT listings and exposure, leading to faster sales and fairer pricing.

3. South Africa’s NFTfi startup raises $5M
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

NFTfi is a marketplace where users have the option to acquire a cryptocurrency loan on their NFTs and give loans to borrowers on their NFTs. Essentially, users may use their NFTs as collateral to obtain loans from other users.

The startup was founded in February 2020 by Stephen Young, and has received a seed round of $5 million to continue innovating and exploring the financial opportunity found within NFT technology.

The financing was provided by early-stage crypto fund 1kx, with participation from Ashton Kutcher’s Sound Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Maven 11, Scalar Capital, and others.

Some of the most popular NFT loans on NFTfi are for Art Blocks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Cryptopunks, Autoglyphs, Meebits, and VeeFriends. NFTfi completed its first loan in May 2020, and has since seen more than 1,500 transactions occur on the platform.

NFTfi isn’t the only NFT-backed cryptocurrency lender in the market, and we are beginning to see more of these types of businesses emerge. However, with such strong investors like Ashton Kutcher, NFTfi definitely looks promising.

Other cool stuff

If you haven’t been keeping up with all the crazy updates throughout the NFT and crypto community, then it’s possible that you have missed quite a bit. That’s why we enjoy mentioning other cool events that are going on, in and around the space.

One thing that we covered in our recent article is the ConstitutionDAO. This DAO has been on a mission to raise at least $20 million before Thursday, November 18, in order to purchase one of eleven original copies of the US Constitution, which is being auctioned off at Sotheby’s.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

This is the only privately-owned US Constitution left, and the ConstitutionDAO is aiming to put this artifact back into the hands of the people. It’s expected to bring in anywhere from $20-50 million, hence the intense goal.

Currently, the DAO has raised an outstanding $5.9 million at the time of writing this article, and that’s within 48 hours of initiating the funding.

I’m personally rooting for the ConstitutionDAO and everyone involved, as I believe this is an important example of how DAOs can give the power back to the people, and provide a way lower cost of entry for something that is generally recognized as unattainable.

Well, that’s it for today’s NF3 recap. Thank you for joining us and we hope to see you again for our next NF3. Feel free to join our amazing Discord community, and as always: stay curious friends.

November 12th’s NF3 Recap: Universal NFT Band, Toys R Us NFT, and Discord

The NFT space never seems to have a dull moment, especially not this week!

In today’s NF3 Recap we are going to look into Universal’s NFT Band that has no musicians. Also, we learned that Toys “R” Us is launching their own Geoffrey Giraffe NFTs. Finally, we review the claims about Discord incorporating NFTs into their platform. Hang with us as we explore all these exciting updates, plus some cool extras.

If this is your first time joining us, make sure you stay up to date by checking out the previous NF3 recap.

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. Universal signs the band Kingship—a band with no musicians
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Universal Music Group (UMG) stated on Thursday that it has signed Kingship, a collection of four human-like NFTs, not an artist.

Kingship, which refers to itself as a “metaverse organization,” is a collaboration between Universal Music Group (UMG) and NFT investor Jimmy McNelis, who owns the four assets. It’s kind of similar to Gorillaz, the late-90s “virtual band” formed by electronic musician Damon Albarn.

Three of Kingship’s NFTs are from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, which is one of the most valuable NFT collections today. For the time being, the story of Kingship does not involve music. While Kingship is an official UMG signee, UMG emphasized that the idea is to offer consumers a taste of the IP first, creating the story of the four characters, before any music is used.

It’ll be very interesting to see where this IP goes, with such a good head start I’d be surprised if Kingship didn’t do exceptionally well in the long run.

2. Toys“R”Us is set to launch their Geoffrey Giraffe NFT project
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Yep! You read that right! Toys”R”Us announced they are offering a digital collection of the brand’s famous IP, Geoffrey the Giraffe.

Exacto, a digital artist who has over ten years of art experience, working mainly as a 3D modeler and animator in various settings, has created the one-of-a-kind Toys”R”Us NFT called The Geoffrey Stroll, which will be auctioned off live when the collection drops on November 13, 2021.

Along with the 1/1 NFT, there will be 8 additional renditions of Geoffrey the Giraffe, ranging from 0.03 ETH (about $150) to more than 0.5 ETH ($2500).

The collector and a friend of the one-of-a-kind NFT will also get the opportunity to attend the big opening of a Toys “R”Us shop in the United States in 2022, which will include transportation to the city and a two-night hotel stay. The drop goes live tomorrow 11/13 on Ethernity Chain.

3. Discord CEO Jason Citron on NFT claims
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Citron Tweeted a screenshot of the crypto wallet MetaMask integrated into Discord’s user interface with the caption “probably nothing” — a known term in the NFT space for anything that may just be a huge deal. Discord clarified that the screenshot was part of a community hack week effort and was not a new feature for the social chat app, yet.

Users on Discord who are leery of the NFT space were pushing one another to cancel their Nitro memberships, Discord’s paid premium service. As well, upset Discord users linked to a recent survey from the firm requesting feedback on Web3 and NFTs. Probably nothing.

Discord was studying how blockchain technology may complement its present goal, even if the screenshot was simply a sample image of what the crypto wallet integration could look like. Some of that effort will now be put on hold while Discord rethinks how to best build their platform for the Web3 groups that have been joining lately.

Other cool stuff

In other fun news, the well-known TV host Jimmy Fallon, announced to the world live on television while he was interviewing Beeple, that he had bought his very first NFT, an Ape.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Jimmy also took his new purchase to Twitter, sending out a Tweet that says, “Permission to come a bored?” — a nice play on words I thought.

Which celebrity will join this elite NFT group next?

Seriously, all of these amazing brands I loved growing up as a child are being reintroduced in a new and innovative way and it’s really special.

If you know the feeling that I’m talking about, then you agree that brands are officially making the transition into this new space, and they are moving quickly.

Well, that’s all for today folks. Thank you for joining us here at ONE37pm, for our NF3 Recap. Have a great weekend. WAGMI.

November 5th’s NF3 Recap: NFT.NYC, EA Sports and Becoming Beeple Film Premier

What a week it has been for the entire NFT community! First and foremost, we will be taking a peek at all that has happened this week with the presence of NFT.NYC. Also, EA Sports’ CEO admits that NFTs will play a huge role in the gaming industry’s future. Lastly, our own team here at ONE37pm premiered their first short film titled, Becoming Beeple. Check out all of that and more in today’s NF3 Recap.

If this is your first time joining us, remember that you can always stay up to date by viewing our most recent NF3 Recap. Without further ado, let’s jump right in!

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. NFT.NYC proved to be a huge success
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

NFT.NYC proved to be nothing but a huge success for anyone who attended the week-long event, as well as the entire NFT community in general. This was the third year of NFT.NYC, and also the busiest year so far, attracting more than 5,000 people, along with a 3,000 person waitlist—according to organizers of the event.

I think it’s really cool to see the creators of these large NFT brands, such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, interact and provide value to members of their community in real life. On Sunday, BAYC hosted a party on a real yacht on the Hudson River in New York.

BAYC wasn’t the only popular NFT entity hosting events this week though. Artists like FewOcious hosted his own paint party to allow friends and fans to create their own pieces of art with FewOcious himself.

Overall, I’d say that NFT.NYC has been an extremely successful event—from the hundreds of guest speakers, to the community who showed up to support each other and learn more about the NFT space.

2. EA Sports announced NFTs will play a massive roll in the gaming industry
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The ultra-popular game publisher EA Sports announced yesterday that NFTs are “an important part of the future of our industry.” A statement like that from such a big leader in the gaming industry can’t be shrugged off.

In fact, EA CEO, Andrew Wilson, stated in a teleconference earlier this week that “As a company, we have been leaders in the creation of digital content that has real collectible value in the embedding of that content as part of live services.”

He added: “What we know about collection over time is the collectibility is far more valuable to the collector where the collected item has utility. And I think that in the context of the games that we create and the live services that we offer, collectible digital content is going to play a meaningful part in our future.”

3. ONE37pm presents our first short film, Becoming Beeple
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Our very own ONE37pm team had a blast this week with NFT.NYC, hosting a premiere for our first short film titled, Becoming Beeple. The 21-minute film is an exclusive documentary about artist Mike Winkleman, aka Beeple, and his journey from creating art as a child, to creating his Everydays—The First 5000 Days NFT art which sold for an astonishing $69M at Christie’s auction house on March 11, 2021.

People from all over showed up to watch this inspirational film, with the likes of Gary Vaynerchuck, Logan Paul, and even Lil Polo Tee showing up to share their love for Beeple and the entire ONE37pm crew.

Although this short film originally debuted November 1st in New York City, you can now view it on the ONE37pm official YouTube channel.

<div class =”code”><iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe></div>

If you love NFTs, art, or inspirational stories in general, then I can’t recommend watching this amazing feature enough. If you want to read more about Beeple’s documentary, Becoming Beeple, make sure you checkout the official article here.

Other cool stuff:

In other exciting NFT news, the sought-after NFT play-to-earn game Axie Infinity has officially launched its new decentralized exchange Katana on the Ronin blockchain, allowing users to swap their tokens into ETH or AXS. The Ronin blockchain saw a huge increase in sales over the last 24 hours, up 105.54% with over $47M in volume.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Also something interesting is The Financial Services Commission (FSC) in South Korea has reaffirmed in a public statement today that NFTs are not virtual assets, and will not be regulated as such.

To be fair, not everyone approves of this public statement. Experts in South Korea believe that NFTs can easily be used to launder money.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

However, since they are not recognized as digital assets, creators of these tokens are not required to comply with anti-money laundering rules, which also means that people in South Korea will not have to pay taxes on their NFTs.

That’s all for today folks. Please make sure to join us for our next NF3 recap. Remember, WAGMI.

November 3rd’s NF3 Recap: UFC NFT, The Sandbox raises $93M and 76ers’ NFT Drop

If this is your first time joining us today, welcome! If you want to check out yesterday’s NF3 Recap, please do, as there were many new updates in the NFT community you don’t want to miss out on.

In our NF3 Recap today, we are going to take an in-depth jab at the exclusive UFC NFT launch. Also, we will be exploring how The Sandbox metaverse game managed to raise $93M. Finally, we will be taking a court-side look at the official Philadelphia 76ers NFT drop, with

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. UFC to launch their exclusive NFT with
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The UFC and are collaborating to launch the UFC’s first official NFT. The exclusive drop will include what they are calling the UFC 268 Packs, which are limited edition fighter belts, as well as event and fight posters that are based on UFC 268: Usman v Covington 2, going down this Saturday.

Something that is really special about the UFC NFT drop is that involved athletes will receive 50% of the revenue from NFT sales, compared to the unjust 18% revenue they are used to receiving. This marks a huge turning point in UFC history and the entertainment industry in general, giving the power and the profit back to the actual entertainers.

The UFC packs are dropping this Thursday on, for $40 per pack, with a limit of 2 packs per person. Whoever happens to collect a special UFC 268 pack by November 7, 2021, 9am ET, will be entered into the UFC 268 sweepstakes for a chance to win exclusive UFC prizes. If you are a UFC fan, this is the NFT project for you.

2. The Sandbox metaverse raises $93M with the help of SoftBank
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The popular NFT-based metaverse game, The Sandbox, recently raised $93M in a funding round which was led by SoftBank—a Japanese holding company focused on investment management, mostly investing in companies dealing with energy, financials, and technology.

The Sandbox is actually the first crypto investment by the SoftBank Vision Fund 2, an estimated $30B investment fund. Apparently in an interview with The Sandbox CEO, Arthur Madrid, he mentioned that the $93M the company raised will help them expand beyond just games and into other economies such as architecture, art galleries, fashion, museums, and a whole lot more.

The money will go towards hiring more staff, creating a multiplayer option, and increasing the number of intellectual property and brands that are a part of The Sandbox economy. This large sum of money will surely help The Sandbox propel their brand into something spectacular, and further proves that NFTs aren’t just a fad, but rather the future of assets.

3. 76ers launch their Legacy NFT collection in partnership with
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Today, NBA team Philadelphia 76ers dropped the team’s first ever Legacy NFT collection in collaboration with The drop which went live this morning, showcases 13 officially licensed NFT commemorative tickets that highlight legendary moments that took place during the “Philadelphia Spectrum” era of basketball. Portions of the proceeds from the NFT will go to the Sixers Youth Foundation.

Collectors and fans of the 76ers team can win big when they complete challenges to unlock exclusive rewards. Rewards are as follows:

  • Hold any Original Series NFTs in your wallet by May 1, 2022  and you will have the option to redeem an Ultimate 76ers fan experience for 2 consisting of Lunch at the Training Complex prepared by team chef, watch the team practice, meet & greet, a game-worn jersey, and a commemorative piece of the original Philadelphia Spectrum court.
  • Holding all 13 Banner Series NFTs in your NFT wallet by May 1, 2022 unlocks the right to redeem a special commemorative piece of the original Philadelphia Spectrum court, a custom jersey, a personalized message from a 76ers Legend, and VIP access to a 76ers event!
  • If you hold 13 Signature Series NFTs in your wallet by May 1, 2022, you unlock the right to redeem an exclusive commemorative piece of the original Philadelphia Spectrum court and a custom jersey.

This NFT project is a great example of how brands and businesses can use NFTs to offer their fans and consumers more value and a more personal experience.

Other cool mentions

In other cool news, Ex-Activision, Lucasfilm developers announced they are working on a new open-world game with the ability to collect, buy, sell, and trade NFTs, earned from the game. The game, called  Metalcore, is a multiplayer combat game that aims to combine traditional gaming with blockchain technology.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The first pre-sale for Metalcore plans to be held January, 2022.

To finish off today’s NF3 Recap, I thought I’d share some commentary from a CNN interview with venture capitalist and co-founder of Metagood, Bill Tai. When asked to explain NFTs’ massive growth and if the growth was realistic, Bill mentioned that a report done by Jeff Reece a couple weeks ago, estimated the asset value of NFTs in 2020 to be $380M, and year-to-date, somewhere in the area of $10B for 2021.

Bill said in the interview, “Never before in tech have we seen something grow at this rate, at 20 to 30 fold in actual dollar volume of transactions, and it’s hard to say that it is a wave that is going to go away.”

November 2nd’s NF3 Recap: Nike Metaverse, Pulp Fiction NFT and The Matrix NFT

This week in the NFT space, things seem to be moving at light-speed! Welcome to today’s NF3 Recap, we have some electrifying topics to cover. If this is your first time joining us, please make sure to check out yesterday’s NF3 Recap to catch up on the latest NFT news.

Today proved to be another remarkable day for the NFT community as Nike silently made their way into the Metaverse. Also, Quentin Tarantino, director of Pulp Fiction—arguably one of the most decorated movies in history, is releasing exclusive NFTs. Lastly, but most certainly not least, is the announcement of The Matrix: Resurrection NFT project. Make sure to check out all of this and more in today’s NF3 Recap.

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. Nike silently enters the metaverse space
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

That’s right, $30B footwear company Nike is officially entering the Metaverse. The billion dollar company recently filed for seven trademark applications, as they prepare to take their shoes and apparel virtual. The trademarks that Nike filed for include the Nike name, the swoosh logo, their popular Just Do It slogan, and of course the Air Jordan and Jumpman logos.

In addition to their application, Nike said their intention is to create and sell virtual branded sneakers and clothing. You can expect to see some virtual goods begin to rollout from Nike in the months ahead.

We will make sure to keep a close eye on Nike as they continue to develop their brand’s portfolio and expand into the metaverse.

2. Quentin Tarantino turns uncut Pulp Fiction scenes into NFTs
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Quentin Tarantino, the award-winning director and writer, has announced that he will be auctioning off seven uncut scenes from the popular 90s film, Pulp Fiction, as NFTs. These seven uncut scenes will also include the original hand-written scripts from the movie, as well as exclusive audio commentary from the director himself.

Also worth noting is the blockchain in which the Pulp Fiction NFTs are created. The Secret Network is the first blockchain that encrypts transaction and ownership data. To me, this seems to practically defeat the purpose of blockchain technology, but apparently this is to protect the filmmakers as well as the future collector’s of these very special NFTs.

3. The Matrix is dropping their own “Resurrection” NFT project
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Warner Bros has decided to bring the Matrix to the blockchain. Warner and partner Nifty’s, have joined forces to offer 100,000 unique Matrix-themed NFT avatars. Each avatar will cost $50 each, dropping on November 30, 2021.

Come December 16th, 2022 however, collectors will be given the option to either take the Blue Pill, keeping your avatar in the Matrix, or you can knock-back the Red Pill, transforming your NFT avatar into a resistance fighter! Additionally, holders of the Matrix NFT will have the opportunity to upgrade their avatars and even earn new NFTs.

Other cool updates:

But wait, there’s more! Really though, the news doesn’t stop there. Following in the footsteps of Facebook, now Meta, is the tech-giant Microsoft. Microsoft plans to offer users a fresh way to meet in 2022, with a new version of Microsoft’s Teams chat and conferencing program that features virtual avatars.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The new Microsoft program should be available to consumers early to mid next year. This new program will also allow users to share files and features, such as PowerPoint decks in the metaverse.

In other cool news, Deadmau5 is working with artist, Gregory Siff, to launch their own line of NFT collectible art on the Solana blockchain. Gregory Siff will be creating the art live at the Red Rocks Music Festival in Colorado on November 4th. The art will be transformed into NFTs at the event, allowing collectors to obtain the physical piece and an NFT to pair with it.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

That’s all the updates we have for now. As always, thank you for joining us today and please check back for our next NF3 Recap. Stay curious, my friends.

November 1st’s NF3 Recap: BAYC Rolling Stone, NFT.NYC, and MANA Spike

Happy Monday and welcome to another NF3 Recap! If this is your first time joining us, please make sure you peep our last NF3 Recap.

The first of the month never fails to deliver exciting news to the NFT community. In today’s NF3 Recap, we are going to take a gander at the BAYC Rolling Stone cover. Also, we can’t forget about all the action taking place in NYC this week, with NFT.NYC. As well, we will analyze what is going on in Decentraland with their MANA currency on the rise. All of that plus more in today’s NF3 Recap.

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. Bored Ape Yacht Club partners with Rolling Stones
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Two famous brands join forces to ignite something new and explosive! The swiftly growing NFT brand, Bored Ape Yacht Club has teamed up with the popular American magazine, Rolling Stone, to write history and give everyone exactly what they didn’t know they wanted—a limited edition magazine featuring an Ape on the cover. That’s not all the value the magazine holds though.

This special edition publication features 20 pages of never-before-seen BAYC artwork, as well as several unique creations from collaborators like Claire Salvo and TimpersHD. The magazine also displays sketches of Swamp Club, giving further insight into the creation of the BAYC brand and how they became so successful.

Only 2,500 copies of the magazine were produced, creating a truly limited edition run of this historically significant and culturally relevant Rolling Stone magazine. The magazines went on sale today, selling out in a matter of hours.

The retail price of the BAYC magazine was set at $50, now if you want to get your hands on one it will run you at least $650 on Ebay, at the time of writing this article.

This all ties into the upcoming event known as, APE FEST 2021, which is a series of events taking place in New York for BAYC holders only. I have a feeling this is just the beginning of something truly great. BAYC has yet to disappoint their respective collectors or the NFT community as a whole.

2. NFT.NYC floods New York with all walks of NFT life
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

In preparation for the annual NFT.NYC event, members of the NFT community brought their excitement to Twitter, posing for mile-high pics and posting selfies of themselves with other members from the NFT community.

Today marks the first day of this 4 day long event, taking place at 5 different venues across New York. The 5 venues are as follows:

  1. Club NFT.NYC – Margaritaville Resort – 40th and 7th
  2. The Edison Ballroom and Rooftop – 47th and Broadway
  3. The Palladium Times Square – 44th and Broadway

3. Decentraland’s native cryptocurrency MANA hits an ATH
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Over the weekend Decentraland’s native cryptocurrency known as MANA hit an ATH of $4.16, shooting up over 400% in a matter of a couple days after Facebook announced they would be changing their name to Meta, to further support their transition into the metaverse. Currently, at the time of writing this sentence, MANA is sitting at a healthy $2.99 per one MANA token.

For now, the price of MANA is holding steady. It will be interesting to see how MANA and other metaverse based cryptocurrencies fluctuate during these exciting times. As more news is released relating to the metaverse, I expect these various currencies to continue this sort of yo-yo effect we are currently experiencing.

October 28th’s NF3 Recap: Disney NFT, McDonald’s McRib NFT, and Beeple’s Drop

Thank you for joining us in today’s NF3 Recap. If this is your first time joining us, please be sure to check out our previous NF3 Recap

The NFT community brought us some big news today! Disney and Veve team up to launch their own line of digital collectibles. Also, McDonald’s celebrates the McRib’s 40th anniversary by releasing a McRib NFT in honor of their famed sandwich. Furthermore, Beeple announced that he is dropping his own real-life sculpture at Christie’s auction house in November.

Hang with us while we explore all of this, plus more, in today’s NF3 Recap.

1. Disney partners with Veve to launch their own series of NFTs
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Disney and Veve are teaming up in celebration of the first annual Disney+ Day to create a line of Disney digital collectibles. The “Golden Moments” collectibles will be offered to fans and collectors as a way for them to interact with digital golden statues of their favorite characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.

You can expect the “Golden Moments” NFT collectibles to drop on Veve, leading up to the first Disney+ Day, on November 12th. Get this, every customer who purchases an NFT from the “Golden Moments” collection will also receive three months of Disney+, covered by Veve.

Collectors who are lucky enough to purchase the Ultra Rare NFT which drops on Disney+ Day will receive 12 months of Disney+.

One thing that is very important to note is that the Disney+ subscription eligibility is only valid in select markets. Additionally, the Disney+ offer is only valid for new and returning Disney+ members. The Disney+ subscription can not be traded or sold, with or without the NFT.

If you are a fan of any of Disney’s work, this may be a good NFT project to look into.

2. McDonalds McRib NFT is fresh off the blockchain
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The McRib is back and it’s looking tastier than ever! In celebration of the McRib’s 40th anniversary, McDonald’s decided to do a proper 2021 drop, handing out their very own digital McRib NFTs. Limited edition NFTs featuring the McRib will be given away to select fans on November 1st, right in time for the physical McRib to hit participating chains across the nation.

If you want to enter for your chance to win a McRib NFT, you will need to be following McDonald’s on Twitter in order to retweet the Sweepstakes Invitation between Nov. 1 through Nov. 7 from your public profile. Ten lucky winners will be chosen by Nov. 12 to receive this digital delectable. If you don’t win, don’t feel too bad. At least you can still get the physical sandwich at a McDonald’s near you.

3. Beeple prepares to auction off his real life sculpture
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Gather up all the loose change in your couch, because Beeple is returning to Christie’s auction house on Nov. 9, but this time offering a physical sculpture that is also available as an NFT.

Beeple’s sculpture, titled “HUMAN ONE” is not just a sculpture. In fact, I’m positive it’s the first of its kind. HUMAN ONE is approximately the size of a phone booth and features an LED screen on each side. The screens loop animated footage of an astronaut wandering through various landscapes, while the sculpture itself rotates, ensuring the human never leaves the frame.

The craziest thing about Beeple’s “HUMAN ONE” sculpture is that Beeple plans to update what is displayed on the LED screens, over time, remotely from the blockchain.

To me, this is a superb example of how artists can make their artwork more personal, even after selling the original art piece. Beeple’s sculpture is expected to bring in more than $15M in the upcoming Christie’s auction. Stay tuned!

Other cool stuff

There is so much to cover amongst the NFT community, I wish I could cover it all. For now, I want to share with you some other news that’s making noise across the NFT community.

Facebook has officially changed its name to Meta. That’s right, now your grandma will be calling her favorite app Meta. In addition to the name change, Meta announced that the company’s metaverse will support NFTs. This support will allow Meta users to store their digital collectibles in their virtual spaces and resell them to others safely and securely, thanks to blockchain technology.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

I’m curious to see how Meta will differentiate itself from the other metaverses such as Decentraland and the up-and-coming Somnium Space. We will continue to cover updates on Meta as soon as more information becomes available.

This specific solid gold Ape had never been traded before according to the transaction data found on the blockchain, until today that is! J1mmy of course has now made his solid gold Ape his avatar on Twitter, flexing the awesome new edition that he has added to his NFT collection.

2. Saw launches their own digital collectibles
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

The splatter film franchise SAW, launched their own terrifying digital collectibles today on Draftkings, right in time to get you in the Halloween spirit. SAW’s first drop today features an assortment of various “Traps” inspired by the film.

3. Twitter NFT tab is in the works
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Back in September of this year, Twitter discussed adding a feature that would allow users to prove ownership of their digital assets, better known as NFTs.

As of today, Twitter has released further details regarding NFT integration into their platform. Twitter is currently working on a way to display NFTs that are held in wallets such as Metamask.

Moreover, Twitter plans on adding a way to view an NFT’s details. Details will consist of a description of the asset, as well as the NFT’s original creator, plus some other details that are still undisclosed. Apparently, you will be able to find all this information in a tab called “Collectibles”, which will likely replace the “Likes” tab under the user’s profile.

We will be sure to keep you up-to-date as more information is revealed.

October 25th’s, 2021 NF3 Recap: Candy MLB, Mastercard and NFT Kicks

Thanks for joining us today for another legendary NF3 recap. If this is your first time tuning in, make sure to check out our previous NF3 recap.

In today’s news, Candy MLB is dropping their first MLB icon packs in NFT form. Mastercard announced that any bank or merchant on their list can offer crypto soon. Plus, we take a look at Flowers for Society, which combines NFTs with kicks. All of that and some other cool stuff in today’s NF3 recap. Let’s go!

This article does not constitute formal financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.

1. Candy drops the first digital MLB icon packs
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div> is the future of digital collectibles. Candy is known for their sports fandom NFTs, such as the first college athlete NFT series. Well, today Candy dropped their first MLB Icon Packs. At 12 PM ET, 5,000 All-Star MLB Icon Packs were available, but only for early adopters. Then again at 2 PM, another 5,000 packs became available for early access Discord members. The public access drop starts tomorrow 10/26 at 12 PM ET.

Each pack includes 3 Candy MLB Icons which displays some of the best players in the league as well as some up-and-coming stars. There are 5 types of rarities that will be offered to the public. Core, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.

The MLB Icon packs are split into two types, All-Star Packs, which contain 3 of the 2021 MLB-All Stars, or you can choose the Uncut Diamond packs, which contain 3 of the top prospects in the MLB.

If you are an MLB fan and you love collecting, this drop is for you!

2. Mastercard says any bank or merchant on their list can soon offer crypto
<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Mastercard is a pioneer when it comes to payment innovation and technology, hence today’s announcement that they will be partnering with a crypto firm, Bakkt Holdings Inc, to offer cryptocurrency card transactions.

Banks and other merchants of Mastercard will be able to offer consumers crypto debit and credit cards that allow folks to make payments and earn rewards in Bitcoin. Of course, more cryptocurrencies are sure to be offered in the future.

As far as how this will all work, Bakkt will convert the cryptocurrency into a currency that the merchant accepts before being sent over the Mastercard network. All of the consumer’s cryptocurrency will be safely stored in a wallet with Bakkt.

I don’t know about you, but to me, this seems like one giant step into the future of cryptocurrency technology being readily available for everyone to spend, earn, and trade easily.

3. Flowers for Society reveals their first NFT sneaker designs

Flowers for Society is an innovative sneaker company combining the love of collecting sneakers with the love of collecting NFTs. The brand is still very new having just dropped their first sneaker design as well as how the entire concept works today. To be perfectly honest, this one has me excited.

Every Flowers for Society drop will be available through pre-orders only, and each pair of shoes will be directly linked to the NFT. Wait, there’s more! If you purchase their first sneakers, the NFT will give you access to their unique metaverse community, which will also give collectors access to future collabs, releases, and limited edition products.

I’m excited about this project mainly because I really like sneakers and I love NFTs. With that being said, please be sure to always do your own research before investing your time and money into any NFT.

Other cool stuff

In other cool news, Jordan Belfort, American entrepreneur, announced on Twitter: “WOW! I LOVE NFT TWITTER! AND NOW THAT I’M HERE, I’M NOT FUCKING LEAVING! Gn”

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Which he posted shortly after Jordan had uploaded a picture of PUNK #6033 to his Twitter, along with the acronym “WGMI” (if you don’t know NFT Twitter terminology, you can learn it all here). I believe that this flex of his is further proof that NFTs are becoming an asset to be reckoned with.

In other fun NFT news, Axie Infinity posted their very first TikTok video, officially announcing their presence on the video-sharing social app. It looks like Axie may begin to use TikTok to leverage their popular NFT brand even further, and perhaps reach some people that they have never made contact with before.

<div class =”code”><p class = “twitter-tweet”></p></div>

Ultimately, only time will tell where all this amazing news will take us in the near future. Make sure to be on the lookout for our next NF3 as we uncover the day’s most important NFT related updates.
